About Duke
Duke is a Belgian Malinois mix just under a year old who recently came into the shelter with a group of other dogs. He spent much of his young life in kennels and crates and hasn’t had the chance to experience a healthy, active environment. While Duke arrived a bit underweight and was wary of the constant noise in the shelter, he revealed a surprisingly sweet and easygoing temperament. He warms up quickly to new people and has become a favorite among both staff and volunteers for his gentle manners and handsome looks. There’s an athletic grace to the way Duke moves, fluid and controlled, yet always intent on sticking close to his handler. He’s confident for his age but can still be cautious in new situations. Since arriving, he’s started to settle in, relaxing more each day as he receives the attention, affection, and treats he never had before. Duke enjoys praise and takes treats gently, showing no rough edges. He gets along well with other dogs and has a tidy kennel, hinting he could adapt quickly to housetraining in a home. However, there’s no information yet on his attitude toward cats. Duke is full of promise—smart, loving, and more than ready for a committed, active adopter who wants to help him grow. A meet-and-greet will be required if you have other dogs at home. Your new best friend is just one click away.
