About Benny

Benny came to the rescue after being picked up as a stray in Orange County. At just a year old, he already weighs about 65 pounds and has the look of a Blue Lacy with a rugged, handsome coat in shades of blue-gray and beige. Benny had to look out for himself before rescue, which left him cautious—especially around other dogs—but he adores people and lights up when he finds someone he trusts. He recently completed a focused, four-week board and train program, followed by hands-on work with his foster family’s trainer, so he’s picked up a strong foundation in manners and commands. Benny’s ideal home will have no other pets and preferably no young kids. He needs a calm environment, space to burn energy, and a family committed to continuing his training and building his confidence. Benny’s high arousal around other dogs is still a work in progress, and his trainer will keep supporting him. Give him the right structure, patience, and a good chew or two, and you’ll have a devoted, goofy companion who loves to be near his person. Benny’s eager for a peaceful spot to call his own. Blue Lacys like Benny need a good amount of outdoor space due to their high energy and working dog instincts. Regular access to a fenced yard or daily outings make a big difference for his well-being.
