Benita is a spirited 2-year-old Terrier mix weighing in at 33 lbs. She's cheerful, playful, and always up for a cuddle. With a name meaning "blessed" from Spanish and Italian origins, she absolutely feels fortunate to find a loving home. Benita loves to chase after balls more than any other toy, and nothing makes her happier than receiving attention from her humans. Independent yet affectionate, she knows how to entertain herself while still enjoying your company. Benita is housebroken and adapts well to a regular schedule. She's good on a leash and loves car rides. However, be mindful when approaching her; she may sometimes cower from overhead movements, likely stemming from her past experiences. Although she can be protective over food, she communicates her boundaries well, especially with overly playful dogs. Not much of a barker, this sweet girl prefers calm over chaos and is not a fan of rainy weather. Health-wise, Benita is spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, and microchipped. She's in good shape, requiring only standard heartworm and flea prevention. Low-maintenance by nature, she appreciates an occasional bath and nail trim to keep her looking lovely. While she gets along well with dogs of all sizes and could thrive as the only pet, Benita may also do well with a cat, though she hasn't been tested with them specifically. Though she hasn't interacted with children in her current home, older kids (10+) who can approach her kindly should be no problem. Living arrangements are flexible; she is adaptable to houses, apartments, townhouses, or condos.
