She made her way to us from Texas at the end of January in pretty rough shape, battling Heartworm and clearly having had a tough past. But with time, care, and love in her foster home, Juanita has absolutely blossomed into the wonderful dog she was always meant to be! Today, Juanita is thriving! She's fully housebroken and can be trusted to free roam the home for several hours while you're away. She enjoys getting out for walks and exploring the world at her own pace, but she's just as happy curling up on the couch for some quiet cuddle time. Juanita also does well with her foster cat sibling. She can be a little nervous when meeting new people, but give her a little patience and kindness, and you'll quickly see her affectionate, loving personality shine through. Her foster mom absolutely adores her! Here is what she had to share, "Juanita thinks I'm her best friend. It took her a few weeks to relax and get comfortable with me and then suddenly it was like someone flipped a switch and we became besties! Juanita loves going for walks, she will never say no to spending time walking around the neighborhood. As much as she likes a walk, she is also content on the couch or her dog bed binge watching Hawaii 5 O on a rainy Sunday afternoon. She is spayed and up-to-date on vaccines. Juanita was treated for Heartworm. She will just need a quick retest at the adopter's vet 9 months post-treatment to make sure that she is Heartworm-free.
