Hi there, I’m Patches, a 20lb Aussie/Border Collie mix born in January 2026. Clearly, I’ve mastered the art of being adorable! My foster mom says I am a total sweetheart. I love toys, treats, and curling up on your lap for a good cuddle. I’m curious about the world and love watching everything around me, especially when I get to tag along on adventures. My foster dog friend, Goose, has been a huge help! She shows me that new things are interesting, and I adore playing with her. I’m doing great on a leash and love going for walks. Yesterday, we went to beach - wow! I’m a little shy to start, and when something feels new or overwhelming, I stick close to my person. I'm braver each day! I’ve met other dogs and greet them politely, even trying to initiate play. I’ve also met young kids; I’m curious about them, but sudden noises and fast movements can be a little much for me right now. I’m doing amazing with potty training - almost no accidents when kept on a schedule! I’m a champion car rider who falls asleep in my kennel. At the moment, kennels in the house aren’t my favorite place, but give me a bully stick and I’ll settle in for a bit. Smarts run in my DNA and I’m already learning how to sit and come when called. I want to take classes with my new family so we have lots of time together and become a family. The treats sound pretty good too, that’s for sure! A physically fenced yard would be my dream scenario in my forever home and I would also be ok with a family that can keep me safe on leash. I’m looking for a patient, low‑chaos home with kids aged 10+ or just adults. My people should understand herding breeds and the need to keep our minds and bodies active. Another dog in my new home is the #1 priority... and hope he or she is just like Goose. I’m toy‑ and treat‑motivated, eager to learn, and an adventure buddy in the making. Pups are up to date on age-appropriate vaccines and microchipped. Patches will be spayed at the age of roughly 6 months. The cost of this procedure is included in her adoption fee. Upon adoption, all of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.
