About Duke

Duke is an adorable pup ready to bring energy, joy, and a whole lotta love into his forever home! Born in early February 2026 and around 14#, he’s described as cuddly, fluffy and sweet with a nice dose of bravery mixed in. He is a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix and loves being with his people. Duke loves exploring outside and chasing leaves. Crinkle toys and ice cubes to chase around the floor are also at the top of the list. When it’s nap time, he loves to cuddle, preferably under your chin. We can see him snuggling up with kiddos for bedtime stories or being an excellent work at home supervisor for his new family. He is a blend of curious, brave, and sweet. He is looking for an active, engaged family who can’t wait to include a dog in all of life’s adventures. Duke wants to go on hikes, road trips, and do all the things his family does. He wants both physical exercise and mental stimulation. His ideal family has a background with herding breeds and a physically fenced yard filled with things to chase, or they are experienced in keeping dogs safe on leash. He is working on all the basics: house training, crate training, and leash skills are all in progress. Duke wants to take obedience classes and continue great socialization to ensure he grows into well-rounded, well-mannered adult dog. He could live with children old enough to provide consistent, patient guidance about what puppies can and cannot chew on. He would love a canine sibling in his new family or could be an only dog with a fully engaged family. He needs frequent potty breaks; please make sure your application details your schedule. If you’re ready for a devoted, loyal, loving adventure-loving companion, Duke might be your perfect match! He is being fostered in Cadott, WI (near Chippewa Falls). APPLY to adopt Duke at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt Our puppy adoption fee is $550 + MN sales tax. Pups are up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. They will be spayed or neutered and microchipped at the age of roughly 6 months. The cost of this procedure is included in the adoption fee. Upon adoption, all of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.
