Rylie is a sensitive, gentle boy who is still learning that the world—and people—can be safe. He’s the more timid of the group and can be a bit wary at first, especially with new experiences or quick movements. That said, his curiosity is shining through and he’ll eagerly come up to say hello, offer sweet little hand licks, and clearly wants to connect, even if he’s still figuring out how. Rylie and his siblings are working through some typical puppy behaviors, including excitement around food and toys, likely from needing to compete for resources early on. With structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement, he’s already starting to learn better habits and will continue to improve in a home environment. He enjoys being close to his people and is beginning to get more comfortable with gentle handling. His foster is helping build his confidence with positive touch and lap time, and he’s slowly learning to relax and accept affection without feeling overwhelmed. It’s clear that Rylie wants to be social—he just needs a patient person to show him the way. At night, Rylie settles into his crate well after a few minutes of protest and is getting into a good routine. With continued guidance and reassurance, he’s going to grow into a loyal, loving companion who will deeply bond with his person. Rylie is a 4-month-old mixed breed who was rescued from a high-intake shelter. This dog's adoption fee is $800 and includes up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, and neuter. Rylie is also tested with other dogs and children. Rylie has not been tested with cats, but we suspect he would do well with them. He is working on potty and kennel training in foster care. We would love for you to meet this dog and see if he might be a good fit for your home. The first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org. Pending approval, your application is valid for 1 year, and you will be eligible to request a hold on an individual animal for the Saturday adoption event. The hold does not require that you take the animal home, but ensures you get to meet and make an adoption decision prior to other applicants. Also pending approval, you will be able to acquire foster home contact information, so you inquire on personalities of specific animals. We do offer midweek private adoption appointments for approved applicants pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Because we are 100% foster-based, private adoption appointments are only offered for individual animals. (If interested in viewing multiple animals at one time, we encourage you to attend our adoption events!) Please note, we do not have the ability to process adoption applications at our adoption events, so please plan accordingly. If an application is submitted past 5pm on Monday-Thursday, it will begin review the following day. If submitted on Friday-Sunday, it will begin review on Monday. It takes approximately 1-2 business days for an application to be processed. Our adoption events take place every Saturday from 10am-Noon at Pet Supplies Plus (Front Range Village, 2912 Council Tree Ave #100, Fort Collins, 80525).
