About Luke
Luke is a 1.5-year-old Hound mix with a big heart and even bigger floppy ears. After getting his first real taste of a cozy indoors during a Texas ice storm with a foster family, he adjusted right away—like he'd always belonged in a home. Since then he’s made his way north to Iowa and is ready for his forever family. Luke is fully potty-trained and crate-trained. He learned house routines quickly and never put a paw wrong indoors. At night, he started out snoozing on the floor by his foster mom's bed, but true to form, he quickly discovered how much better it is to snuggle right in the bed next to his person. He sleeps soundly, though he does tend to wiggle around like a happy toddler in his sleep. He gets along well with other dogs and young kids, adapting to both with an easy, gentle personality. Luke’s affectionate nature means he wants nothing more than to be part of a family, soak up back rubs, and melt into any soft spot you offer. He enjoys his meals, loves toys, and can keep himself entertained. Like most young dogs, he still has playful puppy energy but already knows “sit” and walks nicely on a leash. He’s an ideal sidekick for strolls around the block or lazy evenings at home. Luke has shown just how adaptable, loyal, and loving he can be and is ready to find the family he deserves. Fun fact: with a birthday on August 16, Luke is a Leo, and he certainly lives up to the warm-hearted, charismatic energy! Your new best friend is just one click away.
