Meet Oscar! Hi, I'm Oscar, a new arrival here at Street Dog Hero! Our team flew me home to Oregon from a recent visit to Mexico outside of Cancun where we held a very large and successful spay/neuter and wellness clinic. We're so grateful our friend and rescue partner decided to step in and help him! Oscar's story is one of resilience and second chances. When he was first found wandering the streets, he was dealing with a painful infection that required urgent veterinary care. Based on what his rescuers observed, it's believed the injury may have occurred during an unsafe breeding situation-something that can unfortunately happen when dogs aren't properly protected or cared for. With the help of a dedicated veterinary team in Mexico, it was determined that surgery was the best path forward for his health and comfort. Oscar has since healed beautifully and is now thriving. Today, that chapter is fully behind him-and it doesn't slow him down one bit. Oscar is playful, enjoys the company of other dogs, and loves being around people he trusts. He may be a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly and shows just how sweet and fun-loving he really is.
