Las Vegas winters are mild and perfect for outdoor pet activities. Red Rock Canyon and Wetlands Park offer scenic hiking in comfortable temperatures. Nighttime lows can dip into the 30s, so bring a light layer for your pet on early morning walks.

Spring

Mar – May

Spring brings warming temperatures and wildflower blooms in the desert parks around Las Vegas. March and April are ideal for hiking before the summer heat arrives. By May, temperatures climb toward 90°F, so start shifting walks to cooler hours.

Summer

75°F to 108°F

Jun – Aug

Summers are extreme with temperatures exceeding 105°F and pavement hot enough to burn paw pads. Walk dogs only before 6 AM or after 9 PM. The desert air is very dry, so keep pets well-hydrated and watch for signs of heatstroke.

Fall

48°F to 92°F

Sep – Nov

September remains very hot, but by October the desert cools into a comfortable range. Fall is an excellent time to resume outdoor adventures at Red Rock Canyon and local trails. Clear skies and mild temperatures make late fall one of the best pet seasons in Vegas.
