About Rusty
At 15, Rusty is facing the kind of challenge no senior should: losing his loving owner to hospice care. Having once been adopted from the rescue, Rusty has returned under difficult circumstances, and now relies on the kindness and stability of those around him. He is in generally good health given his years, though he lives with arthritis and is both blind and deaf, possibly dealing with neurological issues as well. Rusty is not a cuddler. He prefers his independence, doesn’t enjoy being picked up, and has a distinctly aloof personality. Much of his comfort comes from calm, repetitive routines, quietly walking and absorbing his familiar surroundings in his own way. Despite not being the touchy-feely type, Rusty deserves a gentle environment where he can feel safe and cared for. Currently, Rusty is only available for sponsorship to help cover the costs of his ongoing care, ensuring he has stable, dignified support through his golden years. His story is a reminder that every senior dog matters and deserves kindness and comfort no matter the stage of life. Make his last chapter a gentle and good one. What are you waiting for?
