Lugnut was brought to the shelter after he was found as a stray. This poor guy was absolutely covered in motor oil. It was hard to tell what color he was even supposed to be. We gave him multiple baths and finally started to see what he was supposed to look like. Unfortunately, that is not where his woes ended. Lugnut tested positive for Feline Leukemia. This is an auto-immune disease that greatly weakens his immune system but does not require any medication. Cats diagnosed with this will typically live for 2-3 years after diagnosis, but can live longer with a healthy life style. It can be transmitted to other cats, so he would have to be the only cat in his home or live with other FeLv+ cats. He would be able to live in a home with children and dogs. Lugnut is a completely perfect boy though! He is so sweet, gentle, and loves attention. We are hoping to get him into a home as soon as possible so he can live out the rest of his days with a loving family.
