This sweet little girl has settled beautifully into foster life and has shown herself to be a gentle, affectionate companion who simply loves being close to her people. With her calm nature, excellent manners, and easygoing personality, Chiquita is the kind of dog who quietly becomes the heart of the home. Daily Life with Chiquita Chiquita is a creature of routine and thrives on a predictable schedule. She sleeps soundly through the night on the bed and wakes up around 7 a.m., ready to start her day. After breakfast, she happily heads out for her morning walk— one of her favorite activities. During the day, she has access to the backyard, where she takes care of her business and enjoys soaking up the sunshine like a tiny sunbather. Dinner is usually served around 7 p.m., followed by another pleasant walk later in the evening before settling in for a cozy night. Chiquita is fully potty trained and does very well with her routine, though like any small dog (with a small bladder!) occasional accidents can happen. Personality & Temperament Chiquita is a friendly, loving little dog who enjoys being near her people and will happily follow you from room to room just to keep you company. She is affectionate without being demanding and is perfectly content to relax beside you while you work, watch TV, or unwind at the end of the day. Chiquita does well when left home alone and settles in calmly until her people return. Social Life Chiquita currently lives with another foster dog and gets along nicely, showing polite and peaceful behavior. She does not bark at other dogs and has not shown any signs of aggression. She walks beautifully on leash, staying close and moving along calmly, and is always happy to return home after her outing. She has done well with children and has shown herself to be gentle and tolerant. While she has not yet been around cats in her foster home, her easygoing personality suggests she may adjust well with proper introductions. Activity Level & Behavior Chiquita is not a high-energy dog, but she truly enjoys her daily walks and looks forward to them with enthusiasm. She is more of a relaxed companion than a playful one and is happiest lounging on the couch, sunbathing in the yard, or quietly keeping her person company. She has lovely house manners— she does not chew or dig, and she rarely barks, aside from the occasional commentary directed at birds in the backyard. You may notice that Chiquita has an eye that doesn't quite look normal. While she cannot see out of that eye, it doesn't bother her - she was born that way and it's just one of her little quirks. We think it makes her all the more adorable. Why We Love Chiquita Chiquita may be tiny, but her capacity for love is enormous. She greets each day with quiet joy, finds happiness in simple routines, and offers steady companionship to the people around her. If you’re looking for a sweet, low-key best friend who will happily walk by your side and curl up next to you at the end of the day, Chiquita just might be your perfect match.
