Kona is a 10 year old husky who came to stay with us when her owner could no longer care for her. This older lady is looking for a comfy spot to spend her golden years. Her sweet personality and winning smile quickly won us over. Don’t be discouraged by her age - Kona’s still got a lot of love to give! Like many of us, she put on a few pounds and could use a gentle exercise program (short walks) and some calorie counting to get her back to her tip-top self. Her age and weight have also contributed to some arthritis, so while she still gets excited over toys, don’t expect long play sessions (although that could change as she slims down). Kona would do well in most homes. Everyone would need to meet her before she could go home; a dog intro would be required if there are dogs in the home, and if there are cats, we’d like to retest her.
