Scooter was transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Texas. He is shy, sweet, and super handsome. You may note his displeased-looking airplane ears in his photo, but we can assure you that what Scooter is unhappy with is shelter life. You can tell that this senior fellow had his own person and a nice quiet life at some point, but his world was upended and now he's in a loud & busy shelter, which understandably worries him. Despite his unhappiness with his surroundings, Scooter does enjoy it when kind people take the time to talk to him in gentle voices. He'll even poke his head out from wherever he is hiding to request petting if he likes the tone of voice that people are using. Scooter would love a quieter home with someone who is willing to take the time to help him feel safe. He will likely never be the cat who comes out to greet your guests, but we believe that he will bond closely with his person and be someone's heart cat.
