The kind who bonds deeply with one person and wants to be your quiet little shadow through every part of the day. Rescued from a large hoarding situation, Wheatly has truly come into his own in foster care. He has learned how to relax, trust, and enjoy the comforts of a calm home, and he has proven to be an incredibly easy, reliable companion. Wheatly is fully house trained, crate trained, leash trained, and has excellent home manners. He settles beautifully in the house, can be left loose overnight without any issues, and simply enjoys being near his person. He carries a wonderful, moderate energy level — happy to play and explore outdoors, but just as content relaxing quietly at your feet or curled up beside you. What makes Wheatly truly special is how naturally he bonds. He prefers connection over chaos and has a lovely habit of staying close and checking in with his human, making him an ideal match for someone looking for a loyal sidekick to share everyday life with. He enjoys outdoor time, car rides, and being included in routines — happiest when he knows he belongs right by your side. He is a sweet gentle boy who just wants to snuggle with his humans as much as possible. He loves to burrow under blankets (this Texas boy is still getting used to the PNW) and he loves playing fetch and strolling around the neighborhood looking for bunnies. Wheatley prefers interacting with humans and has shown little interest in playing with our resident dog.He is house trained, leash trained and sleeps overnight in his crate without issue. He would make a wonderful devoted companion for someone who loves neighborhood walks and cuddling on the couch, dog parks are not his thing.
