Buddy is a chocolate Lab pup just over a year old with a gentle heart and so much love to give—once he feels safe. This sweet boy is very anxious and skittish, especially in the shelter environment, which has been incredibly stressful for him. Because of this, Buddy truly needs a calm, understanding home where he can finally relax and be himself. While he may be shy and unsure at first, Buddy forms deep, loyal bonds with the people he trusts. Once you’re part of his “inner circle,” you’ll see his true personality shine—he’s extremely sweet, playful, and full of energy, just like a young Lab should be. Buddy will need a patient adopter who is willing to go at his pace and help him build confidence through positive experiences and socialization. He may require multiple meet-and-greets to feel comfortable, but the connection you’ll build with him will be incredibly rewarding. His compatibility with other dogs and cats is currently unknown. We're still awaiting behavioral evaluation but accepting applications early.
