AvailableAbout Nurse Dana
THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TEXAS. THEIR ADOPTION DONATION IS $575 AND INCLUDES TRANSPORT. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO, AS IT CONTAINS IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT OUR ADOPTION AND SCREENING PROCESS. Our process begins with an application. If we believe it may be a good match, we will reach out to schedule a phone interview, followed by a video call with the foster home. A virtual home visit, along with personal and veterinary reference checks, are required to complete the adoption process. Once approved, the dog will be placed on the next available transport, which runs every few weeks and is included in the adoption donation. If you are not able to welcome a dog until a later date, please wait to apply until that time. We are a volunteer-run rescue and donate our time to help these dogs find homes. If you are not serious about moving forward with the adoption process, please do not apply. If other people in your household are part of the decision, please make sure they are fully on board before submitting an application. This helps ensure we respect everyone’s time. ___ If you’ve been watching The Pitt and thinking you need a fearless, take-charge kind of energy in your life — meet Nurse Dana. And just to be clear, while her name might suggest she runs the whole hospital floor… this Nurse Dana is not a licensed professional. She is, however, extremely qualified in confidence, chaos, and keeping everyone on their toes. At 12 weeks old and 10 lbs, this female terrier mix has the cutest scruffy, adorable little face and is being fostered in Austin, Texas. Nurse Dana is available for adoption out-of-state. Transport can be arranged for approved adopters and is included in the adoption donation. Our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we’ll reach out to coordinate a phone interview, followed by a video call with her foster home. A virtual home visit, along with personal and vet reference checks, are required to complete the process. Like her brother, Nurse Dana came into rescue after being found roaming behind a gas station with no mom in sight. Despite that start, she’s come in bold, curious, and ready to take on the world. She’s got a bit more spunk to her — brave, outgoing, and the kind of puppy who isn’t afraid to dive right into new situations with her tail wagging. She’s fantastic with other dogs and has a fun, bouncy play style that keeps things lively. She would do great with a canine companion who can match her energy or help balance it out. While she hasn’t been around cats or children yet, we think she could do well in a home with respectful, well-mannered kids who understand puppy boundaries. Nurse Dana is full of energy and brings that classic playful puppy spirit, mixed with plenty of affectionate, snuggly moments when she’s ready to recharge. She loves attention and is already showing signs of being a people-oriented pup — just with a little extra boldness in her personality. And like any young puppy, those cuddles do come with sharp little teeth and nails while she’s still learning her manners. She’s off to a great start with training — sleeping through the night in her crate and picking up on routines quickly. She’s still working on house training and will need a family committed to consistency, patience, and structure. She’s not leash trained yet, so her future family should be ready to help her build confidence out in the world. Because she’s still young and learning, Nurse Dana will do best in a home where someone is around more often than not to support her development and give her the time and attention she needs to thrive. We can’t guarantee her exact adult size, but based on her age and breed mix, she’s expected to grow into a medium-sized dog. She’ll do best with a family ready to embrace her confident, spirited personality and guide her into becoming a well-rounded adult dog. If you’re looking for a brave, outgoing, scruffy little sidekick who brings both personality and puppy snuggles — Nurse Dana is ready to report for duty in her forever home. ___ ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt?
