About Dr. Robby

THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TEXAS. THEIR ADOPTION DONATION IS $575 AND INCLUDES TRANSPORT. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO, AS IT CONTAINS IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT OUR ADOPTION AND SCREENING PROCESS. Our process begins with an application. If we believe it may be a good match, we will reach out to schedule a phone interview, followed by a video call with the foster home. A virtual home visit, along with personal and veterinary reference checks, are required to complete the adoption process. Once approved, the dog will be placed on the next available transport, which runs every few weeks and is included in the adoption donation. If you are not able to welcome a dog until a later date, please wait to apply until that time. We are a volunteer-run rescue and donate our time to help these dogs find homes. If you are not serious about moving forward with the adoption process, please do not apply. If other people in your household are part of the decision, please make sure they are fully on board before submitting an application. This helps ensure we respect everyone’s time. ___ If you’ve been watching The Pitt and think you’re getting a seasoned attending… let’s just clarify — this Dr. Robby is not licensed to practice medicine. He is, however, highly certified in tail wags, zoomies, and stealing hearts. At just 12 weeks old and 13 lbs, this male terrier mix has the most scruffy, adorable little face and is being fostered in Austin, Texas. While he may not be saving lives in a hospital, he will absolutely take over your home in the best possible way. Dr. Robby is available for adoption out-of-state. Transport can be arranged for approved adopters and is included in the adoption donation. Our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we’ll reach out to coordinate a phone interview, followed by a video call with his foster home. A virtual home visit, along with personal and vet reference checks, are required to complete the process. Dr. Robby came into rescue after being found roaming behind a gas station with his sister, no mom in sight. Despite his rough start, you’d never know it — this little guy is full of joy, curiosity, and affection. He’s playful, sweet, and already showing signs of being a total Velcro pup who just wants to be near his people. He’s fantastic with other dogs and would really benefit from a confident canine friend to help guide him. His play style is classic happy puppy — social, bouncy, and always ready to make a new friend. He’s full of energy and brings that fun, chaotic puppy spirit, balanced with plenty of snuggly, melt-into-you cuddle moments. Just don’t forget — those puppy cuddles do come with sharp little teeth and nails while he’s still learning his manners. While he hasn’t been around cats or children yet, we think he could do well in a calm home with respectful, well-mannered kids who understand puppy boundaries. Training-wise, Dr. Robby is already making great progress. He sleeps through the night in his crate (a huge win at this age) and is picking up on routines quickly. Like most puppies, he’s still working on house training and will need a family committed to patience and consistency. He’s not leash trained just yet, so his future family should be ready to help him build confidence as he explores the world. Because he’s still young and learning, he’ll do best in a home where someone is around more often than not to support his development and give him the attention he needs to thrive. We can’t guarantee his exact adult size, but based on his age and breed mix, Dr. Robby is expected to grow into a medium-sized dog. He’s going to need a family ready to embrace the full puppy journey — the chaos, the cuddles, and everything in between. If you’re ready for a sweet, goofy, big-hearted puppy who may not be an actual doctor but will dramatically improve your quality of life — Dr. Robby is ready to join your family. ___ ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt?
