Chuck is a sweet, sensitive, slightly dramatic little guy who is still figuring out that the world isn't out to get him He came to us as a stray from local animal control, and while no one came looking for him, it's clear he was once someone's "cute puppy" who maybe didn't get the training or confidence-building he deserved. Now about a year old, Chuck is equal parts loving and unsure-he truly believes he is a lap dog and will absolutely try to climb into you for comfort when life feels overwhelming (which, in Chuck's world, can sometimes be... walking through a doorway). He'll nuzzle into you, lean on you, and politely request emotional support like it's his full-time job. New things can be a little scary, and Chuck may freeze, pancake on the floor, or give you those big "please help me" eyes-but the best part is how quickly he's already growing. When he first arrived, he was too nervous to walk down a hallway, and now he's going outside on leash, exploring new spaces, and even playing with other dogs in the yard (yes, he is dog-friendly!). He's learning that the world might actually be... kind of okay. Chuck is incredibly sweet, eager to connect, and does best with patience, consistency, and a gentle approach. He's still building confidence and working on things like not jumping up when he wants comfort, but he is a quick learner and truly wants to do well.
