About Bear Bear

Bear Bear is a massive, 110-pound Rottweiler who carries all the classic traits of his breed. Raised by a caring owner who kept up with his vaccinations, nutrition, and comfort, Bear Bear was caught up in unfortunate personal circumstances, landing him in need of a new home. After a couple of transitions, he's now with a foster trainer who’s spent weeks helping him make significant progress. Even with a professional’s help, Bear Bear needs continued structure, routine, and reinforcement to keep up the training he missed as a youngster. Bear Bear has a medium drive and energy level, satisfied by walks, a game of fetch, and the simple joys of a Kong or a splash in water. He’s no fan of the summer heat but enjoys balls, treats, and any kind of attention from his human. While he’s kennel trained, not destructive, and house trained, Bear Bear is still learning how to interact politely with other dogs. He does best with large, playful dogs after gradual introductions and is not recommended for homes with cats, small animals, or young children due to his prey drive and some past negative experiences. He’s working on better reactions to overstimulation and is muzzle training for the vet or nail trims. Applicants must have training experience, at least some familiarity handling guardian breeds, and a willingness to keep working with a trainer. He's still a big puppy at heart—playful, silly, and headstrong, but looking for the right person to help him really mature. Bear Bear is in Lincoln, NE, and if you are physically strong, dog savvy, and ready for a rewarding project, he may just be your perfect fit. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
