About Roman
Meet Roman - a well-rounded, affectionate guy who truly checks all the boxes! At almost 6 years old and 73 pounds, Roman is a confident, easygoing dog with a wonderful balance of manners, intelligence, and love. He's easy to get in and out of the kennel and quickly settles into whatever the day brings. On leash, Roman may pull a bit at first, but he settles nicely and becomes very manageable. Squirrels, however, are his weakness-he *will* pull hard to investigate if he spots one! Aside from that, he walks well and remains nonreactive to other dogs he passes. Roman is a dream in the car-he hops right in and usually spends the ride snoozing peacefully. He also handles bath time like a champ, standing calmly and making the process easy. This handsome boy is incredibly smart and loves training. He already knows sit, down, paw, and stay, and he's eager to keep learning more. He enjoys playing fetch and is both mentally and physically engaged when given the chance to learn or play. He may occasionally jump up for treats, but he's easily redirected and responds well to guidance. Roman has great social skills and does wonderfully meeting new people. He's polite, often sitting nicely for pets, and shows just how affectionate he is once he warms up-which doesn't take long! He does have some allergies that will need ongoing management, but with proper care, he continues to thrive and be the amazing dog he is. He currently looks a little rough around the edges as we help his skin clear up, but his fur continues to grow back more and more every day! Overall, Roman is truly a fantastic companion-loving, well-mannered, and adaptable. He's great in the car, in public, during baths, and around other dogs. If you're looking for a loyal, intelligent dog who's ready to be your best friend, Roman might just be your perfect match. As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog to dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. To meet your new pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
