About Chance

THIS IS A COURTESY LISTING. PLEASE CONTACT THE PERSON IN THIS LISTING IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN CHANCE. Chance is a little over a year old. I believe he was 10 months when we got him in November. We were supposed to be taking him for a trial and then the owners said they couldn't take him back when we said he isn't able to stay. He needs a yard with a fence and lots of space to play. Unfortunately we don't have that. He's large, about 75 pounds. He also loves attention and being with people. Positives: gentle giant, he's super sweet and loves playing with other dogs and loves to be around people. He loves belly scratches and cuddles. He listens well when told no. House and crate trained. He does fine in the crate at night and when no one is home but gets anxious when he's alone and can hear other people. I do give him anxiety chews from time to time and that helps.  Negatives: he's got a lot of puppy mischief in him still and will sometimes attempt to jump or grab things he shouldn't. But he does respond well to no. He doesn't realize how big he is sometimes and knocks into stuff or people. He gets excited.  Best home for him is one with older kids (or no kids). Mine are 5 and 7 and he does good with them but he gets on their nerves sometimes because he always wants to cuddle and he's big. Other dogs to play with would be great but I'm sure he'd be great as an only dog also. When the kids are gone and I'm working in the house, he'll throw around toys for himself and catch them and have the best time. We have another dog, for about 10 years (pictured in the attached). But she isn't as interested in play time as much. A fenced in yard/big space to play is a must. I don't know how he does with cats but I assume fine because the previous owners had two. We boarded him for a week in Dec in a home with middle school kids, 2 other dogs, and a fenced in yard and he did great. They said he was their favorite dog to keep and considered taking him but they already have 3 and board regularly so they decided against it.  We have all the paperwork from the original owner, he came from a shelter. He's neutered and has his shots. We also have a large crate (shaped like a house) someone is welcome to have.  Please contact: Ashleigh  336.437.6247
