About Feather

Meet Feather Named Feather because she was quite literally light as a feather when she arrived at Good Karma. Feather is estimated to be about 13 years old, but you'd never guess it watching her happily skadoodle around the house. And yes-we say skadoodle for a reason. Feather is special needs in the most magical way. Her front legs don't work as they typically should, so she gets around using her back legs and her front forearms. It doesn't slow her down one bit. She goes exactly where she wants to go, how she wants to go, and she does it with grace and determination. We share this first because it's part of what makes her so incredibly special-and we are endlessly proud of her. Feather does have chronic dry eyes, which are easily managed with daily eye drops and a lubricant. Easy breezy. She's also had some pancreatic issues in the past, but those are well controlled with a specialized diet that helps prevent flareups. Feather is looking for a forever home with someone who enjoys caring for her unique needs. It's truly not a lot of work, but she does need consistency with her simple support routines to keep her feeling her best. She is friendly, loving, and full of gentle joy. In her foster setup, she lives with four other dogs and does wonderfully with them. At just 4.2 pounds, she prefers that her housemates respect her personal space-if they get too close to her face, she will politely (and swiftly) send a memo. Thankfully, they understand boundaries, so harmony reigns. Feather loves the morning breeze, evening sunsets, and cozy afterdinner TV time with her people. She's a peacefully happy little dog who would make the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal canine friend. Feather is both potty trained and peepad trained, though if you ask us, she much prefers going outside to take care of business. She gets a little wiggly when nature calls, making it easy to know when it's time for a bio break. It's just another one of her sweet, endearing quirks. Oh-and one more thing. The only time Feather barks is when her roommates do. And yes, it's completely adorable. Feather isn't just special needs-she's made of magic.
