About Cory
*Cory is being fostered in the Los Angeles area. Cory is a super-sweet adult male Cocker Spaniel. He’s very friendly with people, mellow, low energy, affectionate, and loves to be pet. Cory has dry eye and a corneal scar on his left eye and is non visual in his right eye. But that doesn’t keep him from being a great companion, whether at lunch or on walks! Since he likes to hump new dogs until he gets to know them, he’s not a good candidate for dog parks. He also has a history of marking (thus needing belly bands) when co-habitating with other dogs. His current foster mom has no other pets, and Cory is not marking in her home! Cory’s from a large puppy mill in Busan, South Korea who’s flown to Los Angeles and joined Camp Cocker Rescue to help him find his new home! WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT PUPPY MILL DOGS: - Puppy mill dogs like Cory need very special adopters – patient people who will be understanding that potty training may be a very long learning curve. - Force-free training is the only way to go; these dogs are already so fearful, and they need kindness, not a dominant alpha approach. - These dogs will be extreme flight risks, so a home with no children is safer in terms of entrances and exits being 100% controlled by adults only. - Most of these more timid dogs will need a home with another confident dog to help show them the way. Typically, puppy mill dogs are dog-friendly as Cory is! *Please note that any age provided is only an estimate, based on veterinary examination.
