About Grayce D
*This animal is a part of our "Seniors for Seniors" program where we offer senior adopters an opportunity to adopt an eligible pet at a discounted fee.* Grayce is a gentle, wise soul who has truly mastered the art of cozy living. This sweet older gal prefers the slower pace of life-you won't find her sprinting laps around the yard, but you will find her enjoying peaceful walks, taking in the sights and smells at her own comfortable speed. Her favorite place to be is curled up on the couch, happily relaxing with her blanket and beloved stuffy close by. Every now and then, she'll get up, stretch her legs, and treat you to an adorable little wiggle-butt moment that's sure to make you smile. Grayce has wonderful manners in the home. She lets you know when she needs to go potty, hasn't shown any interest in chewing or destroying items, and doesn't require a kennel. She's quiet and content, rarely barking-even when left alone-and she rides calmly in the car like a seasoned traveler. She can coexist with other dogs, but she does have a bit of a "what's mine is mine" mindset when it comes to cozy spaces, toys, and her people. If another dog joins you on the couch, settles onto a shared bed, or starts playing nearby, Grayce may hurry over and bark to let them know her feelings. Because of this, she's currently being managed with crate-and-rotate or baby gates to keep everyone comfortable and set up for success. She may do best as an only dog, or in a home experienced with managing multiple dogs and giving her clear boundaries. Grayce is also working through some skin and allergy issues, and with continued care, she'll be feeling her best in no time. What Grayce truly wants most is a loving home where she can relax, feel safe, and share her gentle, comforting presence. She isn't flashy-she's something better. She's steady, sweet, and full of quiet love, just waiting to be yours. ---- Adopting a senior dog is like getting a vintage car - it comes with character, a few extra quirks, and might need a bit more maintenance. Expect occasional tune ups at the vet for oil changes (aka meds), and embrace the fact that those 'normal lumps and bumps' are just part of the well-earned charm package! Ruff Start will share all known health information with adopters and recommendations to keep your Senior dog in top shape.
