Hi, I'm Atlas! My past is a bit of a mystery, and I had a not-so-great experience with another dog at some point. But you'd never guess it from my personality - I'm still a happy, affectionate, goofy puppy who just wants to be part of the family. I'm super curious about other dogs and really want to play. I sometimes forget to respect the older dog's "please give me space" signals, but I'm learning! The good news? I redirect easily and I really do want to be a good boy. I already know "sit," and I'll happily trot into my kennel if you've got a snack or treat waiting for me. I'm still working on my manners though - I am a puppy, after all! I get excited, I get the zoomies (especially in the house), I sometimes jump up, and I can pull on the leash. I don't totally understand how big I am yet, so I might accidentally knock over little kids in my excitement. I do well with kids 7 and 12, but smaller humans might need a sturdy stance around me. I love meeting people and am very friendly... sometimes a little too friendly, because I'll try to jump up and say hello face-to-face. What can I say? I'm enthusiastic. I adore being petted and will absolutely climb into your lap like I'm a tiny puppy - even if I'm not so tiny. I'm affectionate and love being close to my people, but I can also chill on a dog bed by myself when I'm ready to relax. When I'm excited, I zoom. I'll toss toys in the air and entertain myself. Tug-of-war? Yes please. Chew bones? Big fan. Being happy for no reason at all? That's kind of my specialty. Even after the rough moment in my past, I'm resilient and full of joy. I'm just a sweet, silly boy learning how to grow into my paws. With a little guidance and consistency, I'm going to be an amazing companion.
