Meet Esme Esme is a beautiful 5-year-old, 43 lb beagle/ blue-nosed pit mix with a heart as big as her personality. This sweet girl is the definition of a Velcro dog—she absolutely loves being close to her people and thrives on companionship, affection, and attention. Esme is housebroken, loyal, and incredibly loving. She’s happiest when she’s by your side, whether you’re relaxing at home or heading out for an adventure. She has a curious, outdoorsy spirit and enjoys exploring new sights and smells, plus a good run around the yard. She would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time—ideally someone who works from home or isn’t gone for long hours. Esme truly bonds deeply with her people and struggles when left alone for extended periods. Esme is being surrendered through no fault of her own. Her owner’s life changed due to pregnancy and a new job, leaving Esme alone for up to 12 hours a day—often confined to a basement instead of getting the walks and attention she deserves. She’s now looking for a second chance at the life she’s been missing. She is great with kids, cats, and many (but not all) dogs. Like many smart and energetic pups, she will thrive with structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement. She did once jump a fence after being left alone outside for hours, so she’ll do best with supervision or a secure yard. Esme is incredibly loyal and ready to give her whole heart to someone who can give her the time and love she craves. She’s not just a pet—she’s a best friend waiting to happen.
