About Muses
Hi there, I’m Muses! I’m a confident, happy 5-year-old girl weighing about 51 pounds, and I absolutely adore people. Wherever I go, I make a beeline for the humans so I can soak up all the love—chin scratches, head rubs, back massages, and cuddles are my favorite things. I’m very much a Velcro dog and love being close to my people, whether that means curling up for snuggles or quietly following you around the house to see what you’re up to. I’m incredibly observant, attentive, and thrive on human connection. I enjoy playing fetch with a rope toy, a little tug-of-war, and roaming the yard to sniff and explore, but I always circle back to check in with my people. If you hype me up, I’ll happily show off my zoomies, running circles and figure eights in the backyard. Around other dogs, I’m more of a supervisor than a participant—I’m tolerant, calm, and prefer to observe rather than jump into the action, especially when my space is respected. I’m very smart, highly trainable, and extremely food motivated (especially when cheese is involved). I know basic commands like sit and off, take treats gently, and even figured out during my photo shoot that the camera flash meant treats—cue me turning my head to search for cheese and making everyone laugh. When I get excited, especially meeting new people (because I truly love everyone), I can be a bit bouncy and occasionally mouthy, but I’ve made huge improvements and am learning that fingers are not chew toys. I’m fully potty trained with zero accidents in the home, do well on car rides, and am nondestructive overall—aside from a toy or two that honestly had it coming. I do pull a bit on leash when excited but settle nicely once I get going. I may have some crate-related anxiety from my past, as I can cry briefly when first crated or once a treat or activity is finished, but I do settle and am otherwise calm. I’ve shown a few very minor signs of resource guarding, but nothing significant, and with trust, consistency, and positive reinforcement, this should continue to improve. If you’re looking for a smart, affectionate, loyal companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side and part of your world, Muses might just be your perfect match.
