Meet Kenai! This precious 2-4 year old mixed breed came to us with a sad story. Kenai was spotted by some concerned folks who saw her as a stray, dragging a chain and trap behind her. A trap was set to safely capture her, and upon her capture, it was found that she had a foothold trap clamped around her front foot. She was rushed to a vet where it was found she had extensive injuries to her leg and it had to be amputated. Now, Kenai is safe in our care and on the road to recovery, learning how to be a tripod and taking it all in stride! Despite her harrowing ordeal, she remains a sweet and gentle girl. She is friendly, loving, smart, and gets along with other dogs. Like all rescue dogs, she will need training and socialization once adopted. This brave girl is so deserving of a happy ending to an otherwise heartbreaking story! We promised Kenai that the rest of her life, would be the best of her life. Could that be with you?
