About Poppy
Poppy’s story begins with a worried little dog peeking out from the back of her kennel, unsure of the noisy world around her. At first, everything felt overwhelming, and she held tightly to her anxiety. But day by day, with soft voices and patient hands, Poppy’s shell began to crack open. She started greeting her favorite people with bright eyes and bouncy excitement, sometimes hopping up during leashing just to say, "I’m ready!" In quiet moments, she leaned in for pets, soaking up affection she didn’t know she could trust at first. She discovered the joy of soft squeaky toys, chasing them with delight until a treat appeared—then all her focus shifted to earning that snack with her sweetest sit. Poppy is still learning about the world, especially when it comes to food and other dogs. She prefers to enjoy her meals in peace, without anyone reaching for her bowl, and she can feel unsure meeting new canine friends. But beneath those worries is a tender, playful heart that blooms with understanding and routine. Poppy is searching for someone who sees her for who she is: a sensitive girl who has already come such a long way, and who will thrive with the right person by her side.
