Found a forever home!
Aslan
Found a forever home!Aslan is a male Domestic Short Hair/Tabby mix living in San Francisco, CA. He’s a medium-sized, adult cat, around 3 years and 11 months old, with short orange and red tabby fur. Aslan is house trained, neutered, and up to date on vaccinations. He is a special needs cat and thrives best in a calm, supportive indoor environment.
About Aslan
Aslan traveled all the way from Oman, escaping a tough life on the streets and landing somewhere safe at Give Me Shelter. He's a blind, resilient soul who takes a little time to learn new spaces but quickly adapts, impressing everyone by confidently mapping out his environment. Once settled, he’s lively, affectionate, and highly intelligent—people usually forget he's blind as he chases toys, finds sunbeams, and jumps on furniture with ease. He loves to chat, greeting you with endearing little meows and following the action to stay close to his favorite people. Aslan craves closeness. He prefers laps over almost anything and is one of those rare cats who truly enjoys being held, cuddled, and gently touching his humans with headbutts and his paw. His loud purr can turn a tough day around and he makes an excellent work-from-home companion or couch buddy. Playtime is still a big event, especially with catnip mice or a game of fetch—he entertains himself for long stretches but will always return for cuddles. He's handled major challenges—like dental surgery and losing an eye—without complaint, always trusting and affectionate. His remaining eye senses light but doesn’t see, so he relies on memory, hearing, and whiskers. Aslan is FIV+, but still expected to have a good, healthy life indoors. He's looking for a quiet, calm home—one ready to appreciate his gentle nature and affectionate presence. At heart, Aslan lives up to his name: lion-strong, deeply loving, and special beyond words. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
