Thankfully, someone noticed them and knew they needed help. Determined to get them to safety, he carefully set up a trap and was able to rescue them. That moment changed everything for Serrano and her brother and sisters. When they first arrived, they were understandably scared and unsure of people—especially human touch. After living on their own, trusting humans didn’t come easily. But with time, patience, and the caring attention of the shelter staff and volunteers, something wonderful started to happen.
