Isabelle had a less than ideal start to her life - she doesn't know that though! At 6 months of age she was rehomed and likely received very little socialization before 6 months of age. Unbeknownst to her knew people, Isabelle was pregnant at 6 months of age. She gave birth to 6 puppies around 8 months of age. Her previous family had frequent visitors which caused Isabelle to feel very stressed. She showed this by barking and avoiding strangers. Isabelle came to our care at just over a year in age. She was painfully shy at first, but seems to be realizing that not all people are scary. She quickly bonded to her foster and loves nothing more than to cuddle closely to the people that make her feel safe. She will snuggle all night long! She can take a while to warm up to new people, but before long will seek attention from them. Even faster if treats are involved. She has a silly, happy-go-lucky personality. She is hilarious and she knows it. Isabelle does well with other dogs, she loves to play and seems to adapt to multiple personality types well. She does not seem to want to share her human. For everyone's safety and peace of mind, we're hoping to find her a home without other dogs, or a dog that is not likely to be offended by Isabelle's desire to have all of the attention. Her ideal home could give her a predictable schedule. She'd prefer something low-key with no big excitement - she's not necessarily an introvert herself, but prefers to live an introvert's lifestyle. This may change with time and training as she learns the world is a safe place to be. She is still very much a baby dog that has a lot to learn, and she's well on her way to becoming a more confident version of herself. Isabelle is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and recently tested negative for heartworm and tick borne illnesses.
