About Winston
Winston, a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever mix with a handsome long black and cream coat, is about five years old and weighs around 60 lbs. Surrendered by his previous owner who could no longer care for him, Winston arrived with untreated ear infections that led to growths in both ears—one has already been removed, and the shelter will cover his upcoming second procedure. He will likely lose some or all of his hearing as a result. Despite this, Winston’s personality shines. He is a gentle, affectionate dog who adores people and thrives on attention—expect plenty of cuddles, relaxed companionship, and gentle moments by your side. Winston plays and walks with enthusiasm but is just as content to curl up quietly. He's house-trained, non-destructive, and knows how to “sit.” Quick to learn and highly treat-motivated, he is a joy to train. The rescue hasn’t yet tested him with other dogs or cats, but Winston should do well in most home settings with a proper introduction if other pets live in the home. Winston is a true companion looking for someone to love. As a fun note, Winston was born under Pisces—the sign known for empathy and a sweet-natured soul. Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin!
