About Ginger
At just 1.5 years old, Ginger is a Boxer mix bursting with love, personality, and playful energy. She’s the kind of dog who will keep you smiling all day—whether she’s zooming around the yard, proudly digging in her favorite sandbox, or snuggling up after a fun outing. Ginger is incredibly smart and eager to learn. She already knows commands like sit, down, settle, leave it, and off, and she thrives when given direction—especially if treats or affection are involved. In public, she’s a star: well-behaved, attentive, and quick to settle. She absolutely adores meeting new people and greets both men and women with excitement and affection. Like many young dogs, Ginger is still working on a few things. She can get excited when she sees other dogs on leash, but she’s been making great progress with impulse control. She may bark at fast-moving distractions like runners or bikes, but it’s more out of surprise than reactivity, and she looks to her handler for reassurance. With continued training and consistency, she has all the potential to become an exceptionally well-mannered companion. At home, Ginger is playful and curious. She enjoys chewing if she gets bored or anxious, so keeping her mentally and physically stimulated is key. Daily walks, enrichment toys, and activities like digging (she LOVES her sandbox!) will help her thrive. She can also jump over indoor gates and may get a little vocal in her crate when left alone, so she would benefit from continued work on separation anxiety and boundaries. Ginger would do wonderfully in a home that can give her the time, structure, and love she deserves. She’d be thrilled to have a playful canine sibling, but she could also shine as the center of attention in a single-dog home. Above all, Ginger is loving, fun, and deeply loyal. With the right guidance, she will grow into an incredible lifelong companion. If you’re looking for a smart, affectionate dog who’s ready to learn and love big—you just found her.
