About Ribeye
What are you waiting for? Apply today! Ribeye is a Labrador Retriever who overcame an incredibly tough start before arriving at Central Virginia Regional Rescue. No longer defined by his past, Ribeye's personality has blossomed β he is a gentle, well-mannered senior who adores children and loves the company of cats. Ribeye's favorite things include belly rubs, butt scratches, sharing time with kids and felines, exploring the great outdoors, getting cozy on the couch or bed, hanging out in his crate, and eagerly awaiting suppertime. He also has a playful, silly side: he enjoys being a bit nosy and even "singing" now and then. Currently, Ribeye is working on his basic commands, leash walking, becoming more comfortable with car rides, and gentle treat-taking. He is housebroken, very quiet, and not destructive when left alone β he's content to rest in or outside his crate as he settles in. Although he is easygoing with people and other animals such as cats, Ribeye would do best as the only dog due to dominant tendencies, particularly around food from past insecurity, and his foster reports some bullying toward the resident dog. His skin and ears were affected by prior neglect, but with medicated baths, cleanings, and good nutrition, he's made notable progress. Ribeye is ready to be the devoted, loving addition to a family looking for a calm, affectionate companion in a single-dog home. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
