Our pretty tuxedo lady SALLY has been on quite the journey of pet discovery and we are immensely proud of how far she’s come under our care. Like many cats currently at the Sanctuary, Sally was trapped at a local cat colony that we are slowly and methodically working very hard to shut down. Sally was close to a year old when she joined us. She was mighty unhappy- flat ears and very hissy- but fast forward a couple of years and this delightful young lady just might greet you as you enter her room. She’s a fixture on the mid-height condo to the left of her room and the height is ideal for you to slowly reach out and scratch the side of her chin. She will roll around, reveling in the attention and might even stand up to give you a big arched back- showing you her level of trust/engagement. What a very far cry from how frightened she was when she first arrived. Sally is excellent with other cats and seamlessly works her way around the room mixing and mingling with them all. She’s very congenial, soft in her ways and never pushy with them. The others seem to trust her and enjoy her calming presence. Sally still has a ways to go in reaching her full pet potential but she’s well on her way. She can still startle easily and become quickly overwhelmed making a beeline away from you and to areas deemed more safe. In her new home, having other well balanced kitties to help settle her in and or show her the pet ropes will be key in bringing out her best pet self. We are super proud of our pretty lady and can’t wait to see the next chapter in her pet life. Might it be with you?
