About Vija
Make their next chapter their best one yet. Vija is a 2-year-old brown Chihuahua on a beautiful journey from timid wallflower to affectionate companion. Arriving incredibly shy, she at first would cower and avoid contact, but thanks to the gentle support from her canine foster siblings, she has opened her heart. Vija now welcomes gentle pets, enjoys being held, and will paw at you for attention—especially if she can score a belly rub! Watching this sweet, soft-natured girl discover comfort and confidence is truly a joy. With a medium energy level, Vija delights in yard play, especially chasing and zipping around with other dogs. She feels secure with friendly canine friends, so her ideal home will include another confident dog and a securely fenced yard. Outdoor time suits her well, but she currently finds leashes overwhelming, so she’ll need an adopter willing to patiently continue her leash training. House training is a work in progress: after starting with pee pads, she now mostly goes outdoors but occasionally has accidents indoors. Vija settles nicely after playtime and does well left alone with other dogs. While she hasn’t met children yet, calmer homes with adults or older kids are likely the best fit due to her sensitive nature. She is food and affection motivated and responds positively to gentle guidance and routine. Vija is on her way to becoming a loving, trusting companion for someone willing to offer her the time and encouragement she needs to flourish. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
