About Tilly
Meet Tilly, a spunky Terrier/Chihuahua mix weighing just 7 lbs and not quite 5 months old. She’s the kind of dog who instantly lights up when she spots another dog, discovers a new toy, or gets to run in the grass. Tilly is cautious with new people, but warm up a bit and she’ll become your biggest fan. She’s still learning about kennels, so patient routines help. Kids over 10 who understand respect for her space may be the best match. Potty training is coming along well—lots of outdoor breaks help—and she’s already comfortable sleeping in the big bed or using a pee pad at night. On a leash, she’s easy, focused, and improving her recall every day. Her favorite spot by far is curled up on a lap. Picked up as a stray at a Texas shelter, Tilly’s now ready for a home with a securely fenced yard where she’ll never be left outside alone. She’ll thrive with adopters who work from home or are present during the day to give her time, training, and attention. Tilly is spayed, chipped, and current on vaccinations. She’s eager for someone to call her own. Click apply to start the adoption process.

Questions about Tilly
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Tilly, as a Terrier and Chihuahua mix, will be happiest in a home that offers plenty of human interaction and security. A cozy environment with a securely fenced yard is ideal, especially since she is small and busy.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Tilly will appreciate a yard where she can safely explore and play, but her small size means she doesn't require a large outdoor space. Regular walks and playtime are important for her energy.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Terrier/Chihuahua mixes like Tilly can do well with children, especially those over 10 who understand to be gentle and respectful. Homes with younger children may not be a good fit due to her dislike of grabby hands.
