About Rufus: The Warrior With

Rufus is a survivor in every sense of the word. From enduring 150 days in a high-kill shelter to famously cheating death after a near-fatal accident, Rufus has seen more than most dogs ever will. His deformed paw, a result of past abuse, and his accident haven't dampened his spirit—he’s always on the move, always eager to greet the day with his trademark grin. He’s classic Husky through and through: expressive, talkative, and quick to share his infamous "awoo!" with those around him. Rufus brings real joy to the room, lighting up with each moment of human interaction and thriving off a good snuggle, especially now that he’s finally relaxing in a foster home. He enjoys walks (though he’ll need a gentle pace), and afterward, nothing beats curling up on a soft rug while his people are close by. Rufus gets along well with other dogs and children, and he’s house trained, making him a solid fit for an active and loving home looking for someone to be part of the family. He craves attention and will reward it with devotion, laughter, and plenty of those classic Husky howls. Rufus has come a long way and is ready to start over with people who see him for the miracle he is. They don’t make them much more resilient than Rufus. Ready to fall in love?
