About Lane

Lane 9 weeks old 7pounds Female Mixed breed If you're out on your own, feeling lonely and so cold. All you gotta do is call Lane and I’ll be there as your best friend! Hi — I’m Lane, and I can’t wait to meet you! I’m fostered with my sister, three resident dogs, and two resident senior cats. I’m so friendly that when I first met everyone I wanted to play all day. I’ve already made lots of new human friends and I greet newcomers with sweet little kisses on their hands and will immediately ask for pets. I’m brave and love exploring — the first time I went outside I walked out the door on my own, jumped in the leaves, and ran around the yard trying to imitate my foster sister. I adore playing and cuddling with dogs of all sizes and learn quickly by watching the older dogs. I love play-fighting with my 50 lb and 80 lb foster sisters, and I’m always trying to get my oldest foster sister to play with me. I’m curious about cats and will typically give them space, but sometimes I test my limits. I’m a very happy, playful pup who also loves hanging out with my sister and foster moms on the couch when I am tired. I enjoy stuffed toys and will drag them around even if they are DOUBLE my size. Playing with my sister is still my favorite pastime, so I’d thrive in a home with another dog companion. I’m working on learning “no” and “come”, but I’m starting to understand vocal tone. Because I’m young, housetraining is just getting started, but I’m doing well with indoor potty pads and my foster moms are confident I’ll continue to improve. At night I sleep with my sister in a crate attached to a playpen with potty pads since I’m still small and need overnight bathroom breaks. I’m quiet when I wake and go right back to sleep after using my pad. I’m doing ok in the car - I cry a little when I’m first put in my carrier since I would much rather explore, but after a little bit (and a good song) I usually fall asleep. If you’re looking for a playful, brave puppy to join your adventures or be your partner in crime, please contact Safe Haven about me — I can’t wait to meet you! Our standard adoption fee is $465. We offer a $15 discount for adopters who pay by cash or check, making the adoption fee $450. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal test, deworming, current on flea and tick preventative, and microchip. To ensure the best match for both our dogs and adopters, we require a fully completed adoption application, a phone interview, and a meet-and-greet with the entire household. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption and does not obligate you to adopt; it simply allows us to begin the review process. To request an application or for additional details, please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to approve or decline any adoption application based on the best interest of the dog.
