Im being fostered in Milford MA and ready for meet and greets! Hi! My name is Sonny. I am a 2 year old 50 lbs sweet, affectionate and mellow boy. I am very human oriented and love all humans but need time to warm up to human males as my personality is on the introverted side. I am also great with older gentle children, I have been in a foster home with children over 8 years old and I love to cuddle with them! I bond fast once I feel comfortable but it will take me a bit to feel safe. I am not a hyper dog and Im perfectly happy just hanging out with my human at home and with just a walk around the neighborhood to meet new friends. I am good on a leash and non-reactive to dogs, humans or any animals that I see but I do tend to pull on the leash to go at my own pace so I need to work on my heeling technique. My foster mom thinks because of my sweet demeanor I can be great as an only dog or be a great sidekick to another dog as Im by no means an alpha. I haven’t been cat tested but I have no prey drive or interest in the squirrels that I see in the yard so we think I can be great around them too. I am crate trained and house trained! I am also quiet and a great car rider as I am not territorial of my car, food or crate. My foster mom calls me Sherlock Holmes because when Im in a new place I smell and want to check everything out! Then I relax and just like to hang out and enjoy my humans company. I was rescued in Texas and Im looking for a foster to adopt in the northern states. What that means is that the lucky family that wants to add me to their family has 2-3 weeks to get to know me before deciding if I am the right fit for their home. If I am not, my rescue will find me another foster to adopt up north asap. My rescue thinks is best for my humans not to feel pressured to take a decision and need time to get to know me, and add me to their routine to see if we are a match before making the life decision to adopt me.
