About Lobot
Meet Lobo The most stunning Merle Shar Pei you will ever lay eyes on... but his story runs so much deeper than his looks. Lobo just turned 3 in March, and for the past 2 years he has been part of our family as a foster. As I write this, I have tears in my eyes — because loving Lobo has been one of the most meaningful, heartbreaking, and beautiful journeys. He came from a horrific puppy mill in Oklahoma, carrying trauma that no dog should ever know. And yet... somehow... he learned to trust. I truly believe I may be the first person he has ever loved. Working in rescue, I see dogs discarded every single day. It takes a toll — not just on us, but on the sensitive souls like Lobo who feel everything. Our busy, chaotic lifestyle isn’t ideal for him, and as much as it hurts to say, my greatest hope is to find him a home where he can truly thrive. And if that home doesn’t come? He will stay with us forever. No question. But just in case his perfect person is out there... here’s what Lobo needs: A home with other friendly, confident dogs This is where he shines. He LOVES to play — from sunup to sundown. He’s goofy, submissive, and happiest in a pack. Watching him learn how to be a dog has been pure magic. A calm, understanding environment He prefers women and is still unsure around men. He may bark, but he has never shown aggression — only fear. He’s curious about new people, loves to sniff, but isn’t ready to be touched by strangers just yet. Patience. And then more patience. Lobo is not a quick adjustment dog. It took months for him to let me pet him and care for him. His future family needs to understand that trust is earned slowly... and beautifully. His safe space He LOVES his crate. It’s his comfort zone, his bedroom, his peace. Someone committed to helping him grow He is incredibly food motivated and has already learned to sit! Training has boosted his confidence so much, and he’s eager to keep learning. A person who won’t give up This is the most important one. Lobo needs someone who sees past the fear and into the incredible dog he is becoming. Because I promise you this — there is something truly special inside of him. And every single day, he shines a little brighter. If you think you might be Lobo’s person... or even part of his journey... please reach out
