Lucy
AvailableLucy is a black and white domestic short hair cat currently living in Marysville, WA. She has a medium build, a short coat, and is an adult female who is fully spayed and vaccinated. Lucy is house trained and prefers a calm and consistent environment where she can come out of her shell at her own pace.
About Lucy
Lucy grew up surrounded by many other cats, which meant she never got much personal attention as a kitten. Because of that, she’s naturally shy and tends to feel uneasy in unfamiliar places or with people she doesn’t know. She may initially hide or keep her distance, but Lucy does let down her guard once she feels secure. With time and steady kindness, Lucy reveals her affectionate side and begins to trust. She’s not a cat who will run up for cuddles on day one—but she is loyal to those who show patience. Lucy needs an adopter willing to let her adjust gradually, and someone who respects that she may always prefer subtle companionship over constant fuss. She’s already spayed, vaccinated, and has had parasite prevention, so she’s all set on the basics. Lucy’s looking for a settled home where she can finally get the attention and security she’s missed. It takes her a while to blossom, but once she does, the bond runs deep. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!

What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Domestic short hair cats like Lucy adapt to a range of home settings, but she will do best in a quiet, stable environment where she isn't overwhelmed by constant activity or loud noises.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Lucy is perfectly content indoors; domestic short hairs don’t require outdoor access as long as they have plenty of safe, stimulating things to do inside.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
While many domestic short hair cats enjoy the company of children, Lucy's shy nature means she will thrive best in a home without very young kids or with calm, respectful older children.
