About Kee Kee

Kee Lee (DOB February 2019) arrived at Safe Haven in January 2026 after spending time as a stray, where he was lovingly cared for by a kind Samaritan outdoors. When the colder weather set in, they knew he deserved the warmth and safety of a home and reached out to the shelter to trap and take him in. Kee Kee is a very handsome tuxedo and one of the kindest, most gentle kitties you’ll ever meet - and a true shelter favorite. Being fairly new to Safe Haven, he’s still a bit shy and likes to spend time tucked into cozy, safe spaces like a soft bed or cubby where he feels secure. But don’t let his timid start fool you… this boy has a heart full of love just waiting to bloom. With a little patience and a gentle touch, Kee Kee begins to open up in the most rewarding way. Start petting his head, and you’ll see the magic happen - he slowly unfolds, his purrs get louder, and before you know it, he’s happily making biscuits and soaking up every second of affection. Once Kee Kee gains your trust, he truly blossoms. He’ll come out to greet you with his distinctive purrs and a desire for love and attention - and he may even be willing to sit right into your lap, perfectly content just being close to his person. He does love his cozy retreats, though, so if the pets stop, he might just tuck himself back into his favorite safe spot for a little recharge. He’s simply a gentle soul who appreciates a calm, predictable environment where he can feel secure. And if you really want to win him over? Crunchy treats are the way to Kee Kee’s heart! He gobbles them right up, and just like that, you’ll have a new best friend. He will also happily lick a squeeze treat right from your finger. When it comes to other cats, Kee Kee hasn’t had many opportunities to interact, so his compatibility is still a bit of a mystery. He does currently share a room with another male cat, and while he tends to keep to himself, there has been minimal tension between them. When he does come out, he mostly ignores his roommate, who respectfully gives him space - though Kee Kee does seem to quietly hold the “in charge” role. We believe Kee Kee is simply a bit reserved at the shelter and are confident that in a home environment his true personality will shine even brighter. Kee Kee is looking for a calm, loving family where he can take his time, feel safe, and continue to grow into the affectionate companion we know he is. Great with people, he may be good with respectful older children. He would do well as an independent cat, but could also be happy with another calm and laid back feline friend. If you’re someone who understands that the best bonds are built with patience and kindness, Kee Kee will reward you with a lifetime of love. If you believe the sweetest souls just need a little time to shine, then Kee Kee may be your perfect match! NOTE: Kee Kee has a unique cloudy eye that is a result of a viral infection that he had as a young kitten. This caused some scarring on the surface of the eye which resulted in minimal vision in that eye. The good news is that he is comfortable, pain-free, and does not require any treatment. His other eye has normal version, and the vision difference does not slow him down at all.
