While he may be a little shy at first, once he feels safe, his sweet nature really begins to shine. Georgie gets along well with other cats and would absolutely love to be adopted alongside his sister, Nosey—they bring each other comfort and confidence. That said, he can also thrive in a loving home on his own with a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. Because he’s a bit timid, Georgie would do best in a quieter home with older children who can respect his need for space. Little kids can be a bit overwhelming for him, and he tends to hide when he feels unsure. Underneath his initial nervousness is a very loving boy who just needs someone to show him the world isn’t so scary. At the Humane Society of Midland County, all animals adopted will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations prior to an adoption. Dogs over 6 months of age will be heartworm tested, and any dog with a positive test will receive treatment at No Appointment Needed to Meet Adoptable Animals! We have open adoption hours, and walk-ins are always welcome! While filling out an application lets us know you're interested in adopting, it does not hold an animal, and applications are not required to meet the available animals. We do highly recommend and may require you to bring any dogs that reside in the same household, or that will be around commonly if you are meeting a new dog companion.
