Hi, I'm Western Willie... but my friends call me Willie I'm a 10-week-old retriever mix (with a little hound in me, I think), and I'm still figuring out this whole "being a house dog" thing. I used to be more of a street guy... but honestly? The couch life is growing on me. I can be a little shy when we first meet. Big new worlds are a lot for a little pup like me. But if you give me a little time and some patience, I promise I'll come out of my shell and show you just how sweet I am. Once I feel safe, I love to relax near my people. My favorite thing? Stretching out on the couch with my head on a pillow like I've had a long day at work (being a puppy is exhausting, okay?). I like toys and I've started playing with my foster dog siblings-it's actually pretty fun once I get going! I'm more of a chill guy though, so I'm really good at giving others their space. I haven't met a cat yet, but I'd probably just mind my business and let them do their thing. At night, I sleep in my kennel. I might complain for a minute or two (just to keep things interesting), but then I settle down like a good boy. I'm still learning everything-how to be brave, how to trust, how to be someone's best friend. But I really, really want to be. So if you're looking for a gentle, easygoing little guy who just needs a bit of love to blossom... I think we'd be perfect together *NOTE* Willie is also one of our special Ambassadogs, which means his adoption fee is a little higher-but for a great reason. His fee helps support other dogs in our rescue who have higher medical or care needs, giving them the same chance at a happy ending.
