Meet The Mountain! Don't let the name fool you, The Mountain may look big and strong, but underneath it all is one of the sweetest, most loving hearts you'll ever meet. This adorable young American Bulldog mix recently joined our program from a shelter in Multnomah County and is already winning over everyone she meets. Before coming to us, she was recovering from painful injuries caused by a harness that had cut into her skin. Thanks to proper care, time, and lots of love, she's healed beautifully and is now ready to begin her next chapter and it's going to be a good one. The Mountain is truly a gem. She's gentle, affectionate, and happiest when she's close to her people, soaking up all the love and attention she can get. She has a calm, loving presence and has shown herself to be dog-friendly, greeting other pups with an easygoing, happy demeanor. Despite everything she's been through, her spirit is bright and full of life. She simply wants to feel safe, be loved, and be part of a family. So far, we know she's wonderful with people and friendly with other dogs, while her experience with kids and cats is still unknown. As she continues to settle in, we'll be sharing more updates as her personality blossoms. The Mountain would thrive in a home that can match her size with space, whether that's a yard, some land, or an active lifestyle. Experience with larger or bully breeds would be a great bonus to help set her up for success. We are currently looking for a foster home for her, but even better would be an in-home adoption trial where she can begin bonding with her forever family right away. The Mountain is the definition of resilience. She's overcome so much and still chooses love, trust, and connection.
