There were so many of us… more than the shelter had room for. I didn’t understand everything, but I could feel it—time was running out. They said over 250 of us might not make it. I remember the noise, the fear, the waiting… Watching dogs leave and wondering if I would ever get my turn. Hoping that someone, somewhere, would see me before it was too late. I tried to stay brave. I wagged my little tail when people walked by. I kept my heart open, even when it was scared. Because deep down… I believed my person was out there. And then one day… everything changed. I was given a second chance. Now I get to feel the sunshine again. I get to run, play, and be the happy, silly girl I was always meant to be. I love other dogs, I love people, and I love being close—just sitting beside you, feeling safe. I’ll be honest… I can be a little shy when we first meet. But give me a treat, a little patience, and a gentle smile… and I’ll be your shadow for life. I’m only 13 pounds, but my heart is full of love I’ve been saving… just for you. I don’t bark much.
